This is our sixteenth year as a community
learning center. With our exceptional staff we are able to work with
students of all ages in the core academic subjects - reading - writing
- math and science.
Our Executive Director of Education,
has 25+ years of teaching and counseling experience. She has a Master's
of Education from the University of Pennsylvania and an Educational
Therapy Certificate from UCSD. She has taught in Pennsylvania, Texas
and in San Diego since 1983.
We provide remediation of skills
as well as enrichment, study skills, and test
preparation programs. Our methodology involves programs that
have been proven to effectively develop students' skills using a structured
and prescriptive individualized plan for each student.
Our staff consists of dedicated and skilled teachers
in their subject areas. They have been chosen for their ability and
desire to work with students in an individualized 2:1 or 1:1 environment.
Building skills and confidence among our students is a vital concern
of our staff. We work closely with students and their teachers at
school in order to maximize the application of what the student learns
at the center and what they do at school.
Our materials are aligned with state standards
and we are working with students to help develop their skills for
success on the state competency exams.
Collectively, we belong to and support many professional
organizations such as the International Reading Association, National
Council of Teachers of Mathematics, International Dyslexia Association
and Learning Disability Association.
